Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and experience in behavioral health. The position requires flexibility for 24/7 coverage and willingness to transport participants for appointments when authorized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field preferred.
• One (1) year of experience in a comparable position required.
• Two (2) or more years in a behavioral health environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises program participants under the direction of the Program Director or designee, reporting unusual changes as they occur.
• Facilitates mentoring, discipline, safety, and observation of participants.
• Utilizes crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations, ensuring safety of participants, staff and visitors.
• Implements the behavioral/level system where applicable.
• Assists with initial assessment and receiving of new program participants.
• Participates in 24/7 coverage with a flexible schedule and timely attendance.
• Transports participants to school or medical appointments as required (if authorized).
• Monitors participant whereabouts to ensure they remain on WestCare property or have required paperwork.
• Assists in implementing recreational activities and monitors drug screenings.
• Ensures the facility is kept clean and in working order.
