Job summary

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) seeks a Behavioral Health Counselor to provide in-person services at ECS program sites. You will support Medi-Cal eligibility efforts and deliver community education and outreach to enhance engagement in Behavioral Health programs.

The role requires strong communication and teamwork, with adherence to safety and confidentiality policies, and completion of required trainings to support participants with behavioral health needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field.
• Experience with homeless populations and low-income clients preferred.
• Knowledge of harm reduction and confidentiality/HIPAA requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and support to ECS site staff to manage client behaviors.
• Outreach to Medi-Cal eligible individuals to inform them about resources.
• Identify barriers to engagement and work to resolve them.
• Provide community outreach to referral sources and ECS programs.
• Attend trainings and bring knowledge to program sites to enhance staff skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
