Job summary

Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to provide in-home and community-based counseling, assessments, crisis intervention, and care coordination to support recovery and stability.

You will work toward Florida licensure (CAP) with a master's-level credential, conduct screenings, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while maintaining thorough documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Eligible for Florida licensure or CAP credential.
• Pass Level II Background, MVR, and Drug-Free Workplace screenings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health screenings and assessments.
• Provide 60% of services in the home and community.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling in the home.
• Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing assessment of client needs.
• Educate and support clients and families throughout treatment.
• Coordinate care with community agencies and service providers.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and trainings.
• Assist clients with accessing community resources and daily living supports.
• Ensure compliance with Medicaid, TANF, HIPAA, and organizational documentation standards.

What You Bring

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
• Eligible for Florida licensure or Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) credential
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
• Ability to pass Level II Background, MVR, and Drug-Free Workplace screenings

Preferred:

• Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, crisis services, or community mental health
• Experience providing individual and/or group counseling
