Position Overview: The Behavioral Health Patient Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking behavioral health services. This role requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, patience, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage crisis situations effectively. The coordinator will facilitate patient intake processes, manage scheduling, verify insurance details, and coordinate closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct screening and triage processes to determine patient service needs.
Manage incoming calls, schedule client appointments, and handle callback requests efficiently.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and accurately record information.
Perform comprehensive data entry related to pre-admission, including referral reasons and patient history.
Collaborate closely with clinical, managerial, and administrative staff to enhance daily operations and patient experience.
Identify urgent or complex cases, coordinating clinical reviews when necessary.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clinical and administrative information, adhering to company policies.
Regularly update and manage scheduling systems.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by management.
Key Relationships:
Reports to Behavioral Health Support Manager.
Regular interaction with patients, Director of Behavioral Health, Chief Clinical Officer, administrative staff, and fellow Patient Coordinators.
Coordination with external healthcare regulatory agencies to remain informed on health standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of office experience, preferably in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
Fluent in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable.
Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Sheets).
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent customer service skills with patients, staff, and external contacts.
