Job summary

Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support behavioral health providers with clinical, care coordination, and administrative tasks. You will work within the team to ensure safe, efficient outpatient services and maintain HIPAA/privacy compliance.

You will perform vital signs, specimen handling, basic lab testing, venipunctures, EKGs and vaccines, while coordinating patient referrals and documenting in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited CMA program or equivalent training.
• WA CMA certification or equivalent required; phlebotomy experience preferred.
• CPR/BLs certification to be obtained within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive support to patients.
• Greet patients and document vital signs, histories, symptoms, and meds; administer screenings.
• Stock and clean exam rooms; assist providers with procedures.
• Maintain smooth flow and communication among patients, providers, and staff.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens; perform CLIA-waived tests and maintain equipment.
• Conduct venipunctures, EKGs, vaccines as directed; document in EMR promptly.
• Support care coordination: referrals, prior authorizations, medical records requests.
• Manage medical supplies inventory and ensure equipment operability.
• Attend team meetings and participate in process improvements and training.
• Complete closing duties; adhere to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 privacy laws; maintain confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
