The Behavioral Health Clinician II acts as an extension of psychiatric providers, responsible for psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, monitoring progress, crisis de-escalation, and evaluating care levels. They work independently applying diagnostic knowledge, serving diverse populations, and providing education on mental health. Responsibilities include facilitating trauma-informed individual, family, and group therapies, and coordinating discharge and aftercare services.
Education & Training: Master's in Human Services (e.g., Social Work, Counseling) and Maryland licensure (LCSW-C or LCPC).
Experience: At least 2 years, preferably with acute/chronic mental illness in psychiatric settings.
Skills & Abilities: Psychosocial assessments, trauma-informed therapy, discharge planning, service coordination, knowledge of regulations, critical thinking, communication, time management, and adaptability in fast-paced environments. Effective collaboration, crisis response, independent decision-making, and flexible hours are essential.

Supervision provided to: Staff and interns.
Includes sitting, standing, walking, some lifting (0-25 lbs.), computer use, exposure to temperature changes, bodily fluids, infection risks, and travel between locations. Protective equipment and safety protocols are required.
