Job summary

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician I to provide comprehensive care under a conditional license. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver individual, group, and family therapy while maintaining records and coordinating with community providers.

The role supports team-based care and aims toward independent licensure under supervision, with strong emphasis on discharge planning and collaborative treatment strategies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c licensure required.
  • Internship/experience in behavioral health before licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of clients with behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct care via individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Maintain clinical records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with community providers and team members.
  • Participate in team meetings for discharge planning.

Education

Summary:
The role of Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The counselor is also responsible for maintaining clinical records, collaborating with community providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be under direct clinical supervision to work towards independent licensure.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field
  2. License/Certifications: LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR).
  3. Experience: Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician.

The pay range for this position is $31.79to $43.02 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
