DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS in Oklahoma seeks a Behavioral Health Clinician assigned to Mental Health/Joseph Harp. The role involves standard cognitive, affective and behavioral assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing individual, group and family therapy.

You will maintain confidential records, participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and may testify in hearings. A masters degree and license eligibility are required, with up to one year post-masters experience.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in psychology, counseling, human relations, clinical/direct practice social work, or a closely related field with practicum and one year post-masters experience.
  • License eligible with licensure to be obtained within 18 months of employment.
  • Experience with standardized cognitive, affective and behavioral assessments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial interview to obtain case history and background for diagnosis.
  • Administers, scores and interprets intelligence, personality, aptitude, and cognitive/affective/behavioral assessments.
  • Develops treatment plans based on test findings and interviews.
  • Conducts individual, group and family therapy sessions.
  • Prepares comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary staff conferences.
  • Maintains confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • May intervene in crisis and potentially life-threatening situations.
  • May consult with community agencies and school systems as requested.

Education
