Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma.
• At least six months experience with the target population preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required (training available, if needed).
• Active driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures client wellbeing and provides a safe, structured environment.
• Maintains continuous supervision and monitoring of clients.
• Performs safety checks and ensures proper supervision intervals.
• Checks clients for contraband and manages valuables.
• Interacts with clients, observes behavior, and reports notable observations to supervisor.
• Facilitates recreational and educational activities aligned with treatment goals.
• Facilitates groups on social and coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills.
• Records vital signs when required and communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Documents in client records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and participation.
• Assists with unit cleanup, admits/discharge paperwork, and organization of charts.
• Initiates incident reports when needed and coordinates transfers or transportation.
• Provides handover to oncoming shifts and introduces new clients to staff and programs.
• Maintains awareness of client needs and motivates participation in activities.
