Job summary

Dona Ana County Crisis Triage Center in Las Cruces, NM seeks a Behavioral Health Associate I to work under a licensed nurse, monitor patient behaviors, provide continuous patient care, and respond in crisis situations. The role includes recording data, assisting with daily living activities, and participating in treatment planning with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and six months or more experience with the population served.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of patients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment under direction of charge nurse or supervisor.
• Assists clients with activities of daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, snacks, hydration and changing bed linens.
• Conducts safety checks and ensures supervision is conducted according to individualized guidelines.
• Checks patients for contraband and manages patient valuables and belongings.
• Interacts with patients, observes behaviors, and communicates significant observations to supervisor.
• Engages with patients in activities designed to achieve treatment goals and facilitates educational-rehabilitative groups.

Education
