Job summary

Bristol Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care on a fast-paced unit in Bristol, CT. Under RN supervision, you will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, vital signs, and documentation to ensure comfort and safety.

Required are a current CNA certificate or active enrollment as a BSN student with clinical rotations, plus up-to-date BLS.

Qualifications

• BLS – Active CPR certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active CNA certificate or one year of PCA/CNA experience in acute or long-term care.
• BSN student (3rd year) with two clinical rotations, Medical Assistant, or EMT roles considered.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients under supervision of the RN.
• Assist with bathing, hygiene, ambulation, feeding and toileting.
• Monitor vital signs and safety checks.
• Support patient transport and documentation in the chart.
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain a patient-centered environment.
• Demonstrate empathy and effective communication with patients and families.
