Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a behavioral health clinician to perform assessments for mental health and chemical dependency patients across ER, inpatient floors, and Laurelwood lobby. The role requires a Master’s degree and GA licensure readiness, with 1–3 years of relevant interview and assessment experience.

You will review intake data daily, participate in supervision and QA activities, and coordinate pre-certifications with payers while maintaining comprehensive documentation

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field for licensure in GA.
• Licensure at Associate level required within twelve months of hire.
• 1–3 years interview and assessment experience with psychiatric, emotional or chemical dependency patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessments for mental health and chemical dependency patients in ER, NGMC Floor or Laurelwood lobby.
• Reviews intake assessments daily to ensure triage protocol adherence.
• Attends intake supervision and staff meetings for in-service and problem solving.
• Performs pre-certification with payers and routes paperwork accordingly.
• Maintains assessment files and documentation for risk management.
• Establishes positive relationships with coworkers, referents and Laurelwood staff.
• Participates in QA monitoring and Performance Improvement activities.
