Role Overview:
The Behavioral Health Assessor-Licensed performs comprehensive face-to-face and tele-mental health assessments, psycho-education, and interventions for patients with psychological, behavioral, or substance-related disturbances. Working under the supervision of the Manager of Behavioral Health, the role involves collaborating with physicians, social workers, and care teams to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure safe discharge and transition planning. Key responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, including suicide risk evaluations, coordinating patient placements, and documenting all interactions accurately in electronic medical records. The assessor also provides education and counseling to patients and their families, assists with legal documentation for patient placement, and participates in service line initiatives. Candidates must have a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling, hold relevant licensure (such as LCSW or LPC), and possess at least 3 years of experience working with adult or child populations, particularly in behavioral health settings. Essential skills include effective communication, knowledge of best practices, technological proficiency, and a flexible, patient-centered approach.
