Job summary

METROPOLITAN DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL in Tacoma, WA seeks an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care within a comprehensive behavioral health program, including MAT and inpatient withdrawal management. The ARNP works autonomously under Washington law and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes clinical assessments, prescribing medications, and documentation in the EMR, with a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent care for patients

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing.
• WA ARNP license with prescriptive authority.
• Experience with substance use disorders and MAT in behavioral health settings.
• Experience in inpatient withdrawal management is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations, evaluations and assessments under established guidelines.
• Provides clinical treatment consistent with the provision of basic health care services.
• Prescribes medications and provides clear instructions to nurses for drug administration.
• Regularly reviews cases requiring ongoing medical/pharmaceutical attention.
• Maintains documentation in the EMR in a timely manner according to policy.
• Practice within the ARNP license scope in Washington with full practice authority.
• Communicate with patients and families regarding treatment and care.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and trauma-informed care.
• Other duties as assigned
