Job summary

Wheeler Clinic in Bristol, CT is seeking an Accounts Receivable Representative for Third Party Billing to electronically bill commercial payors bi-weekly and apply cash receipts to client accounts. The role requires a high school diploma and a Medical Biller/Coder designation with 2–3 years of behavioral health billing experience.

This is an in-office, full-time position with strong emphasis on accuracy and communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required; Certified Medical Biller/Coder designation preferred.
• 2-3 years experience in behavioral health billing/collection preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong communication skills required.
• Analytical and problem solving abilities; ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Experience with Not for Profit organizations and with Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics and NextGen is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electronically submits clean claims to all commercial payors through clearinghouse bi-weekly.
• Researches claims that do not pass through clearinghouse; processes paper claims weekly.
• Receives and posts checks from commercial payors; manually applies payments to client accounts.
• Researches incorrect payments with payors to determine process issues.
• Ensures Medicaid compliance workbook is completed; cash postings are correct in NextGen and transferred to accounting.
