Job summary

Las Cruces Recovery Center is seeking an on-site Behavioral Health Associate I to join a multidisciplinary treatment team in Las Cruces, NM. You will monitor client behavior, provide continuous care, and respond in crisis situations as needed.

You will conduct safety checks, assist in data collection, and support group activities designed to achieve treatment goals, while documenting observations and maintaining accurate charts.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Maintains supervision of clients and conducts safety checks.
• Interacts with clients, observes behaviors, and communicates significant observations to supervisor.
• Facilitates client educational-rehabilitative groups on topics like social skills and coping skills.
• Takes and records vital signs and communicates changes to the charge nurse.
• Keeps client records accurate and timely.
• Provides incident reports and assists with transfers or transport coordination as needed.
