Job summary

Las Cruces Recovery Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate I to join the multidisciplinary treatment team in Las Cruces, NM. The role focuses on monitoring client behaviors, providing continuous care, and responding to crises on site.

Responsibilities include safety checks, documentation, de-escalation, and facilitating therapy-related activities. A high school diploma is required, with at least six months of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of common psychiatric disorders and/or dual diagnosis and various treatment modalities of the population served preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Conducts safety checks and follows individualized supervision guidelines.
• Checks clients for contraband and manages client belongings.
• Interacts with clients, observes behaviors, and communicates significant observations to supervisor.
• Engages clients in activities to support treatment goals.
• Facilitates educational-rehabilitative groups on social skills and coping strategies.
• Records vital signs and communicates changes to the charge nurse.
• Charts in client records timely and accurately.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and participation.
• Assists with unit organization, intake/discharge processes, and incident reporting.
