Job summary

The Arc of Anchorage is seeking a Behavioral Health Aide for a Residential Extended Shift (4-day) in Anchorage, AK. The role supports adults in AMHR, working with a clinical team to promote recovery and safety during extended night shifts (8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.).

Base pay is $17.50/hour with overtime to total about $20.42/hour, reflecting four overtime hours per 12-hour shift. Applicants must reside in Alaska and pass required trainings and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of client care in clinical settings is preferred.
• Awareness of cross-cultural issues is beneficial.
• Familiarity with peer support, advocacy, and recovery concepts.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
• Alaska driver’s license with clean driving history.

Responsibilities

• Maintain internal records and documentation in electronic health records and databases.
• Provide direct supervision while ensuring client safety and wellbeing.
• Build therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist with activities of daily living and community integration.
• Transport clients to medical, legal, and community appointments.
• Observe, report, and document incidents and safety concerns.
• Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and case managers as needed.
