Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is seeking an Admissions (A&R) Clinician to guide patients and families through the admission process and ensure access to appropriate levels of care.

You will conduct intake assessments, coordinate with treatment teams, verify insurance, document interactions, and respond to high-volume calls while maintaining compassionate, culturally sensitive care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with active clinical licensure as LMSW/LCSW/LPC/LPC-Associate or LMFT.
• Active Texas RN license or eligibility via a compact state license.
• Current BLS certification.
• De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC).
• Knowledge of behavioral health principles, practices, and treatment modalities.
• Understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in patient care.
• Proficiency in Windows applications and electronic documentation systems.
• Strong understanding of insurance plans, PPOs, and managed care processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to determine appropriate levels of care.
• Evaluate psychosocial, emotional, and behavioral health needs across age groups.
• Apply knowledge of developmental stages and special populations to clinical decisions.
• Provide culturally sensitive care considering individual backgrounds.
• Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
• Coordinate with patients, families, referral sources, and treatment teams.
• Verify insurance coverage and coordinate authorization processes.
• Communicate with clinicians, nursing staff, and business office for admissions.
• Document assessments, referrals, and related interactions.
• Respond to high-volume calls, referrals, and walk-in assessments.
• Coordinate intake appointments and admission activities.
• Track and analyze referral and admissions data.
• Resolve challenges with a positive, professional attitude.
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment daily.
