The role combines clinical assessment with strong customer service, coordinating with treatment teams, referral sources, and insurers to streamline the admission workflow in a fast-paced behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with active clinical licensure or RN license in Texas.
  • Active Texas RN license or compact-state licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • De-escalation Training: Handle with Care (HWC).
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and treatment modalities.
  • Understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in patient care.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications and electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong understanding of insurance plans and managed care processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments to determine level of care.
  • Evaluate psychosocial, emotional, and behavioral needs across ages.
  • Apply developmental and cultural considerations in clinical decision-making.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care considering social, spiritual, and personal background.
  • Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
  • Serve as liaison between patients, families, referral sources, and treatment teams.
  • Verify insurance coverage and coordinate authorization processes.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, nursing, and business office to facilitate admissions.
  • Maintain communication with referral sources and provide timely follow-up.
  • Accurately document assessments, referrals, and related interactions.
  • Respond to high-volume calls, referrals, and walk-in assessments.
  • Coordinate intake appointments and admission activities.
  • Track, organize, and analyze referral/admission data.
  • Resolve challenges with professionalism and initiative.
