Job summary

Crestwood Behavioral Health is seeking a Recreation Assistant to help develop and implement the activity program for residents in Bakersfield, CA. You will plan events and coordinate activities that align with our care standards while addressing the spiritual, emotional, and psycho-social needs of each resident.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and experience in social or recreational programs, preferably in a health care or psychiatric setting.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
• Current CPR certification.
• One year's experience in a social or recreational program within the past five (5) years, one year of which was full-time in an activities program in a health care setting.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric setting with the chronically severe and persistent mentally ill.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing the activity program and plan special events according to standards and policies.
• Ensure residents' spiritual, emotional, and psycho-social needs are met individually.
• Support overall recreation and therapeutic activities as part of the care team.
