Job summary

Advocates is seeking a Behavioral Consultant in Fall River, MA to provide behavioral consultation, intervention and therapy to individuals referred by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The role includes supervising staff, developing treatment plans, and coordinating training across programs.

The position is salaried, with travel across the region, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates; 20 hours in Fall River plus 20 hours regionally, and travel involved.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • Licensed Psychologist or BCBA.
  • 3+ years experience with developmentally disabled individuals with severe behavior problems.
  • 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical consultation to individuals with developmental disabilities and families as referred by DDS.
  • Develops assessment, intervention and monitoring strategies.
  • Coordinates and trains staff working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Assists in training, supervision and evaluation of Behavioral Treatment Specialists.
  • Manages program finances and ensures proper use of resources.
  • Responds to referrals for emergency evaluations/interventions.
  • Provides on-call services as part of a rotation.

Overview

Salary: $87,500-$93,000 for BCBA $90,000-$93,000 for Licensed Psychologist

$5,000 Sign On Bonus *applicable to external candidates only

Schedule:This position is 20 hours in Fall River and 20 hours covering the region, which does involve travel.

The Behavioral Consultant is responsible for providing behavioral consultation, intervention and therapy to individuals as referred by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The Behavioral Consultant will provide direction and supervision to all staff assigned to the program.

The Behavioral Consultant provides a unique opportunity to utilize a range of clinical skills focusing on consultation, behavior change and mental health care. This position would be a good match for someone who is creative, flexible and excited about bringing mental and behavioral health support to individuals with developmental disabilities!

This salaried position does not rely on 3rd party billing.

Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical consultation to individuals with developmental disabilities, families, residential programs, vocational programs and schools as referred by DDS.
  • Responsible for the development of assessment, intervention and monitoring strategies.
  • Coordinates and/or provides training for staff working with individuals with developmental disabilities on his/her caseload.
  • Assists in training, supervision and evaluation of Behavioral Treatment Specialists.
  • Provides for the fiscal management of the program and assures the proper utilization of the agencys financial resources.
  • Responds to referrals for emergency evaluations and interventions as requested by DDS and other authorized individuals.
  • Provides on-call services as part of a rotation including other consultants in the program.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Psychologist orBCBA
  • Must have extensive knowledge of knowledge in learning and behavior change and a minimum of 3 years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals exhibiting severe behavior problems.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Sensitivity to clients and the ability to treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Must hold a valid drivers license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients.
