Job summary

Proud Moments ABA is seeking a Behavior Technician to join our center-based team in Chesapeake, VA. You will work 1-1 with children on the autism spectrum under the supervision of a BCBA, implementing individualized behavioral plans during after-school hours.

This role offers paid training, competitive pay, and a supportive, team-oriented environment. Flexibility to work five weekdays and contribute to meaningful progress for families is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience working with children preferred.
  • Experience supporting children or adults with behavioral challenges or developmental delays preferred.
  • Exposure to ASD or other developmental disabilities preferred; training provided.
  • Reliable transportation with ability to commute to assigned locations.
  • Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and company policies.
  • Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Clear verbal and written communication; ability to follow detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with a client to implement behavioral plans designed by BCBA.
  • Collect data to monitor progress and report on treatment effectiveness.
  • Support BCBA with training families on implementing plans.
  • Be responsive to the needs of clients, families, and supervisors.
  • Maintain clear communication with families, supervisors, and applicable parties.
  • Physically assist during sessions with children aged 2–15; varied activities.
  • Perform other tasks outlined by BCBA/LBA.

Proud Moments ABA is a national behavioral health organization, providing the gold standard of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children on the autism spectrum from birth to age 21. We are looking for Behavior Technicians (BT's) to join our growing team. Our BT's are an essential part of the treatment team- providing 1-1 specialized treatment in partnership with our Board Certified Behavior Analysts to our clients in a center-based setting. If you are looking for a career that allows you to provide life changing treatment to children this could be the role for you-if you have the passion we have the training!
*This role does require that you can work 5 weekdays, Monday- Friday*
*We do not hire for internship/ summer only roles at this time*

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with a client to implement behavioral plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Collect data to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan and report progress
  • Support BCBA with training families on implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with families, supervisors, and other applicable parties
  • Physically keep up with clients as they move about the session area(s). This will require many physical activities including, but not limited to, standing, sitting, bending, lifting 25+ pounds, running, squatting, kneeling, and generally keeping pace with children from 2-15 years old
  • Any other tasks outlined by BCBA/LBA

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience working with children preferred
  • Prior experience providing support to children or adults with behavioral challenges, developmental delays, or special needs preferred
  • Exposure to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities is preferred, though comprehensive training will be provided
  • Reliable personal transportation with the ability to commute consistently to assigned work locations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client, family, and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and document information accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to stay organized and adapt to changing schedules or priorities
