Physical Requirements:
- Assume and maintain a variety of postures for extended periods
- Sit, stand, climb, walk, balance, lift 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds, carry 50 lbs, grasp, reach, handle, stoop/crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, smell regularly
- Specific vision abilities required (close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus)
- Run and walk minimum 5 minutes, escort a student minimum 5 minutes, climb a six‑foot fence
- Respond quickly to active and aggressive children, adolescents, 5‑22 years old
- Physical response may include evasion or performing approved escorts, holds, restraints to maintain student and staff safety
- Criminal background clearance or formal exception
- Valid/Active driver’s license with clean driving record and verified auto insurance
Equipment Used:
- Children’s toys and educational materials
- Office equipment including copy machine, laptop, iPad, and phone
- Hand tools including hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and painting supplies
- Kitchen appliances including oven, air fryer, dishwasher
- Cleaning equipment including mop, vacuum, handhelds
Working Environment:
- Noise conditions: exposed to moderate and occasional loud noise from students, toys, school equipment
- Heat/Cold: may be subject to heat, cold, wet, humid weather, and occasionally five or more minutes in extreme conditions
- Injury exposure: position requires physical activity and occasional physical management of a student
- Environmental exposures: potential exposure to secretions, saliva, blood, urine, feces and risk of bloodborne pathogens

- Staff seeking BCBA or BCABA certification will be provided supervised hours as part of employment
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation, driver’s license, working cell phone, valid car insurance
- Experience working with children
- Pass background check, fingerprinting, and application for Certified Behavior Technician license
- Successful completion of 40‑hour training within 1 week of employment (stipend upon completion)
- CPR required within 90 days of hire
Food Handler's Card required within 90 days of hire
Fingerprinting required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in school, home or community settings
- Experience with, and understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Experience working with children with special needs
- 2‑4 year degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) credential preferred
Job Duties detailed:
- Provide direct student care in 1:1 and group formats
- Prepare meals and snacks for students
- Utilize intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements in home, clinic, and community settings
- Follow behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
- Follow and record data for prescribed training protocols
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior
- Utilize safe & appropriate procedures when working with students
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and school environment
- Sit, stand and move with children to maintain effective programming and implement safety procedures as directed by BCBA
- Maintain student confidentiality
- Collaborate professionally with the treatment team including student, parents, caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioral Technician, Behavior Specialist, coworkers
- Assist Lead Behavioral Technician and Behavior Analysts in preparing student materials as instructed
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training
