Job summary

Butterfly Effects is hiring a part-time Behavior Technician to work in-home with children and families affected by autism. Sessions occur in the afternoon (3-7pm) with flexible 12-20 hours weekly.

You will implement ABA plans under a BCBA, track progress, and collaborate with families to build communication, social, and self-care skills. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, a passion for helping children, and access to a tablet or laptop for sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• RBT certification preferred if already obtained.
• Passion for working with children and a positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and vehicle.
• Tablet or laptop required for sessions.

Responsibilities

• Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA.
• Observes, records, and reports on client progress and behavior daily.
• Manages challenging behaviors.
• Applies behavioral principles consistently in interactions with clients.
• Assists clients to acquire academic and life skills.
• Completes daily paperwork and data entries in our online database.
• Participates in ongoing training to improve skills.

What Do You Bring to the Role?

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Registered Behavior Technician Certification if already obtained.

• Experience: Prior experience with children is advantageous.

What Would You Be Doing?

• Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
• Observes, records, and reports on client's progress, as well as the condition and behavior of the client daily.
• Manages challenging behaviors.
• Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
• Assists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills.
• Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, trainers, and clients.
• Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
• Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner through our online database.
• Actively participates in continuous training programs designed to increase overall skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of client information.
• Follows BE policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This role involves working in natural environments, occasionally requiring lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. and maintaining various postures for extended periods.
