Job summary

MN Care Services is hiring a Behavior Technician to support youth and adults with complex behavioral, developmental, and/or mental health needs in residential or community settings. The BT will follow care plans, collect data, and provide skill-building support 1:1 or 2:1, with roles varying by individual care plans.

A $1,000 signing bonus is offered. The role emphasizes compassionate, ethical care, data-driven behavior supports, and collaborative teamwork across the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant experience in behavioral, residential, or mental health settings.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass background checks.
• Must complete 245D training or demonstrate competency.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches and structured data collection.
• Strong documentation and crisis de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow the person’s care plan and ensure timely, accurate documentation (shift notes, med administration reports).
• Collect accurate data to drive positive behaviors as part of the care plan.
• Provide support with activities such as meal planning, shopping, housekeeping, cooking, organization, and self‑care.
• Advocate for and empower individuals through basic skill training using a person‑centered approach.
• Support decision-making and goal setting in daily living and service choices.
• Transport individuals to destinations using company vehicle as needed.
• Coach individuals through escalations in behavior or mood and in emergencies.
• Maintain positive relationships with teammates, coordinators, and care teams.
• Follow HIPAA and other privacy policies; protect confidential information.
