Job summary

Hand Over Hand LLC in Chatham, NJ is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician to deliver one-on-one and small-group ABA services in childcare centers, homes, and community settings. You will work under the guidance of a BCBA to implement individualized treatment plans and help children develop communication, social, and daily living skills.

This role emphasizes inclusion, collaboration with families and staff, and ongoing professional development through supervision and training.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Willingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within the first 120 days of employment is required.
  • Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Experience in childcare, preschool, or school-based settings is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to pass background checks, clearances, and health screenings required by state regulations and childcare centers.

Under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you’ll bring individualized treatment plans to life in natural, play‑based environments, helping children succeed during real routines, peer interactions, and daily activities.

What You’ll Own & Elevate
  • Implement individualized ABA treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Use evidence‑based strategies such as natural environment teaching (NET), discrete trial training (DTT), prompting, and reinforcement.
  • Collect accurate data on skill acquisition and behavior goals during sessions.
  • Document session notes and progress updates in a timely, compliant manner.
  • Communicate observations and progress with supervisors and team members.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standards at all times.
