Job summary

Asteri Behavioral Treatment Center in South Gate, CA seeks a Behavior Technician to work one-on-one with children in their homes, delivering ABA therapy and implementing individualized treatment plans developed by a BCBA.

You will receive paid RBT and clinical training, flexible scheduling, and ongoing mentorship to build skills in communication, social, play, and daily living activities. This is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diverse applicants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with children is a plus, but not required.
• Available a minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Afternoon/evening availability between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance and registration.
• Willing to travel up to 25 miles from your home for client sessions.
• Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable learning data collection and behavior intervention techniques.
• Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

As a Behavior Technician, you'll work one-on‑one with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities, helping them build communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—an evidence‑based therapy that helps children reach their fullest potential.

No ABA experience? We’ll help you get started. Receive paid training and continued support from experienced BCBAs as you develop your skills.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence‑based approach that helps children with autism and other developmental disabilities learn meaningful skills that support greater independence in their everyday lives.

Through personalized, engaging sessions, Behavior Technicians work one‑on‑one with children to strengthen communication, social, play, coping, and daily living skills. Using positive reinforcement and individualized strategies, they also help children develop safer and more effective ways to navigate challenging behaviors.

What You'll Do

As a Behavior Technician, you will:

Typical Sessions:

• 2–5 hours per session
• Children primarily ages 3–17 years
• Afternoon and evening schedules
