Children’s Specialized ABA addresses the comprehensive needs of children, teens, and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Using the expertise of the Children’s Specialized Hospital Autism Center of Excellence, our program expands access to innovative and compassionate care, empowering children with autism to thrive. Your Day as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Teach individuals with autism to communicate, play, make friends, and function independently while reducing inappropriate behaviors.
- Collect data to demonstrate client progress.
- Document using electronic data collection software for real-time analysis.
- Participate in clinical team meetings to report progress and receive feedback.
- Receive training in ABA methods from top clinicians.
Responsibilities of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Provide intensive one-on-one therapy to children with ASD.
- Implement behavior acquisition and reduction plans.
- Conduct stimulus preference assessments.
- Collect data and maintain client program records.
- Develop teaching materials and provide basic care (e.g., toileting, eating).
- Discuss progress with parents/caretakers.
- Work with BCBA to implement goals and checklists.
- Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients.
- Ensure the well-being of clients and continue professional development.
Minimum Requirements for RBT
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Travel up to 20 miles from home to client locations.
- Valid/unexpired RBT Certification or 40 hours of BT experience (hourly rate may vary).
- Previous experience with children; ASD experience preferred.
- Reliable schedule and transportation.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including sitting, standing, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
