Momentum is hiring Behavior Technicians for the Behavior Health Services program in the South Bay Area. The Behavior Technician will provide direct support to children with Autism and/or other related disorders under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst. You will work with children in their home and throughout the community in which they live.

Behavior Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 or in a small group with children with Autism or related disorders
  • Collect data on observed behaviors
  • Provide direct implementation of behavior analytic services to children with autism and/or other related disorders
  • Implement positive behavior strategies with children as developed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Implement strategies with children including antecedent and consequence (reinforcement) strategies, based on developed treatment plans and strategies with their BCBA
  • Work in the home, community, school, clinic or other designated settings with children and their families providing direct behavior-analytic care as determined in the child's assessment and treatment plan
  • Assist with individualized assessment procedures through preference assessments and data collection
  • Work closely with parents/caregivers of assigned clients
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Behavior Analyst
  • Attend trainings on and utilize Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Ensure that people exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted without due process, ensuring people are treated with dignity and respect
  • Maintain availability to respond to the needs of the children we support
  • Follow Momentum crisis and emergency procedures, including de-escalation strategies, first aid strategies, mandated reporting etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet departments and/or business needs

Behavior Technician Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • One (1) year of experience as a Behavior Technician or experience working with children with Autism and/or other developmental disabilities, preferred or as required by regulations
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact and communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external audiences and colleagues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, health screening, TB screening and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to twenty-five(25) pounds
  • Valid and current proof of legal right to drive; required
