Job summary

Berkshirejobs seeks a Behavior Technician to support substantially separate programs and special education students. The role is school-year only, 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, and reports to the Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services.

Responsibilities include implementing structured behavioral management, reducing challenging behaviors, employing BCBA strategies (such as discrete trial training), and collaborating with teachers during IEP and Behavior Plan meetings.

• Work with students to reduce behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, disruption
• Use strategies provided by the BCBA (eg discrete trial training) to instruct students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs
• Provide mentoring and direct support to students during specified un-structured times of the day (lunch, recess, etc)
• Collect data on behavioral interventions and assist in monitoring progress
• With teachers and other support staff, implement elements of student behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA and Special Education Coordinator
• Participate in meetings (IEP, Behavior Plan, etc.) as necessary.
