With one in 36 children diagnosed with autism, this entry-level job is in big demand. As a Behavior Technician at Total Spectrum, you’ll help children with autism learn, grow, and develop communication, socialization, and self-help skills through applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy.

Working as a Behavior Technician requires specific qualities, including:

  3. A willingness to learn about autism, learning differences, and ABA.

For nearly 10 years, Total Spectrum has provided evidence-based ABA therapy to help children, teens, and young adults with autism succeed.

  • Sick leave eligibility for part-time employees.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Working with children aged 2-22 with autism and special needs in homes, schools, or centers.
  • Education requirement: High School Diploma/GED.
  • Reliable transportation, with a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle preferred.
  • Availability to work part-time M-F between 8:00 am and 7:30 pm, including Saturdays, with primary hours between 12:00 pm and 7:30 pm.
  • Starting pay at $20/hr, with potential increases based on experience.
  • Eligibility for RBT certification.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Age 18 or older.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Availability for a consistent weekly schedule.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred additional qualities:

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).
  • Background in psychology, education, childcare, or related fields.
  • Experience with children in caregiving or educational roles.
  • Interest in careers in behavioral health, therapy, or education.

Physical requirements may involve engaging in activities such as pushing, pulling, lifting up to 35 pounds, and moving quickly as needed. Ability to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run is necessary.
