Job summary

Rogue Behavior Services is seeking a Behavior Technician to work under the supervision of a BCBA® to teach meaningful skills to children and teenagers with a variety of needs. A short orientation video walks you through a typical day in this role at Rogue Behavior Services.

Responsibilities include delivering home-based services, establishing rapport with families, and recording progress. Training is provided, with ongoing support and a focus on skill development and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Ability to respond to challenging behavior after training.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavior-analytic services in a home-based setting.
  • Establish rapport quickly with clients and their families.
  • Teach functional skills such as problem-solving and self-calming strategies.
  • Use preventative strategies to reduce likelihood of challenging behavior.
  • Respond to challenging behavior as indicated on a behavior plan.
  • Record data related to skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
  • Communicate barriers, progress, and suggestions to designated BCBA.
  • Incorporate feedback and training during sessions.
  • Write a brief summary of each shift worked.

Behavior Technicians work under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)® to teach meaningful, lasting skills to children and teenagers with a variety of needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide behavior-analytic services in a home-based setting
  • Establish rapport quickly with clients and their families
  • Teach functional skills such as problem-solving and self-calming strategies

  • Respond to challenging behavior as indicated on a behavior plan
  • Record data related to skill acquisition and behavior reduction

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable attendance
  • Ability to respond to challenging behavior, including aggression, after training
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree related to human services (completed or in progress)
  • Interest in a career in human services
  • Experience providing Naturalistic/Incidental Teaching
  • Familiarity with behavior-analytic principles
Training
  • New hires will receive extensive training prior to working with clients
  • Training will begin as soon as possible
  • Ongoing training will be provided during sessions for a minimum of two hours per week
Wage:

$18-$22/hour (depending on experience)
