Job summary

Merakey in Altoona, PA is seeking a Behavior Technician with no prior experience required. Paid training is provided. Earn $18.50 per hour and work a full school day Monday–Friday from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm.

You will work one-on-one with autistic/emotional support students, following IEP and PBSP plans to help them meet academic and behavioral goals in a trauma-informed environment. Join a supportive team focused on student development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–6 months of experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience working with children with autism preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete timely ongoing data collection, including parent/staff correspondence and all required documentation.
• Provide behavioral interventions and physical interventions as needed. Physical interventions may range from simple prompting and/or guided transport up to, and including, physical restraint of client.
• Monitor client performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
• Accompany and assist client(s)/student(s) with activities and daily living which may include assisting with toileting and grooming.
• Collaborate with families and team for continuity of care.
• Implement and follow through with client/student behavior plan as well as individualized reinforcement systems for the individual client assigned.
• Complete required training(s) as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Behavior Technician to join our program in Altoona, PA. No experience required – we provide PAID training. Earn $18.50 per hour. Work Monday–Friday, full school day 8:30 am – 3:15 pm.

As a Behavior Technician you will work one on one in our school setting and have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of autistic/emotional support students who are all unique and amazing. Following each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP), you will help the student achieve their academic and behavioral goals. Your dedication and empathy will help our students learn in a trauma‑informed environment. In this role, you will be part of a team where you can have fun and be an integral part of our students’ development.
