Job summary

Merakey is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician in State College, PA, where you’ll work one-on-one with autistic and emotionally supportive students. You’ll support their individual education plans and behavioral goals in a nurturing environment.

We are seeking a Behavior Technician to join our program in State College, PA. If you are a Paraprofessional, Registered Behavior Technician, Behavior Health Technician, or a Personal Care Aide, this is the opportunity for you! No experience required – we provide paid training. Earn $18.50 per hour. Monday — Friday, full school day, 8:30 am — 3:15 pm. As a Behavior Technician you will work one‑on‑one in our school setting, with a wide variety of autistic and emotionally supportive students. Following each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Positive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP), you will help the student achieve academic and behavioral goals in a trauma‑informed environment. Your dedication and empathy will help our students learn in a supportive setting. In this role you will be part of a team where you can have fun and be an integral part of our students’ development.

Responsibilities

• Complete timely ongoing data collection, including parent and staff correspondence and required documentation.
• Provide behavioral and physical interventions as needed; physical interventions may include simple prompting, guided transport, and physical restraint as appropriate based on program regulations and training.
• Monitor client performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
• Accompany and assist clients and students with activities and daily living, including toileting and grooming.
• Collaborate with families and the team for continuity of care.
• Implement and follow up on the client’s behavior plan and individualized reinforcement systems.
• Complete required training as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
