Job summary

Brightway Living & Learning is seeking a Behavior Support Assistant for the School Age Program in New York. The role is full-time, 8 am–3 pm, Monday–Friday, with a pay range of $19.89–$23.87 per hour.

The position offers a hands-on role in implementing ABA-based supports within an ungraded classroom and a 12-month calendar year. The ideal candidate has 18 psychology credits or a completed RBT certification with relevant experience, or equivalent qualifications, and is prepared to engage in

Qualifications

• Must have at least 18 credits in psychology or a related area and a minimum of 1-year experience with individuals with Autism or developmental disability OR hold RBT certification and possess a minimum of 1-year experience with individuals with Autism or developmental disability
• Knowledge, experience and skill with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS)
• TA or other certification must be active; SCIP Certification required within 3 months of hire;ABA/Teaching Strategies training within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Supports classroom staff with behavior-related tasks and activities for students, implementing the IEP and Behavior Support Plan
• Provides behavior support and crisis intervention for students daily
• Analyzes student information to ensure conformity with Behavior Support Plan
• Assists with classroom staff on implementing Behavior Support Plans and contributes to behavior program input with specialists
• Collaborates with behavior specialists and team members on behavior issues in school and community
• Prepares documentation/assessments for Clinical Coordinators or Licensed Psychologist as needed
• Participates in bus duty and lunch coverage and supports overall program functions
