Job summary

YAI is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to supervise, protect, and care for individuals in a structured setting. The role requires adherence to individualized service plans and behavioral support plans, promoting learning and safety while escalating potential risks when needed.

You will assist with daily living activities, teach skills, and support person-centered advocacy, maintaining respectful communication and community engagement within a compliant, trauma-informed framework.

Qualifications

• Provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Administers medications as prescribed and follows guidelines.
• Learns and applies Behavior Support Plans and person-centered approaches.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise individuals at all times, ensuring safety and following house rules.
• Implement plans of protective oversight and IPP/IBSP.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Support individuals in achieving personal goals and community connections.
• Assist in communication, self-expression, and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate with program leadership and team meetings for quality care.
• Document events, progress notes, and required paperwork in the EHR.
• Provide staff training and participate in regulatory compliance.
