Job summary

The Dallastown Area School District is seeking a Full-Time, 10-Month Behavior Intervention Specialist Paraprofessional at York Township Elementary School to support a special education teacher in delivering IEP-based supports to students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP instructions, aiding in the development of instructional materials, handling routine clerical tasks, and using instructional media.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an assessment through our special education department or equivalently
• Two years of postsecondary study (48 credits) or an Associate's Degree or higher
• Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development related to assignment each school year
• Candidate should be child-centered, warm, and able to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Carry out oral and written instructions, including those in the student's IEP, to support access to the educational environment
• Assist teachers in presenting and developing learning materials and instructional exercises
• Perform routine clerical work
• Work with instructional media, office machines, and equipment
