Job summary

SEEC is seeking a Behavior Analyst/BCBA-supported position in Montgomery County to implement positive behavior supports for adults with disabilities. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, collaboration with a BCBA, and staff coaching to ensure equitable, person-centered services across home, work, and community settings.

Responsibilities include assessments, plan development, staff training, and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with COMAR and DDA requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, special education, rehabilitation, human services, or related field is required.
• RBT certification is required and supervision by BCBA/licensed clinician is needed.
• Knowledge of ABA and positive behavior supports is essential.

• Educate on and implement new strategies based on monitoring results.
• Support staff and families to ensure successful home, work, and community participation.
• Maintain up-to-date session notes and documentation within timelines.
• Provide coaching and competency-based training to staff and families.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Employment, Community Engagement, and Supportive Living teams.
• Ensure updates per COMAR requirements and monitor Business Protocol adherence.
• Work with BCBA on onsite supervision to meet RBT maintenance requirements.
• Schedule and facilitate project meetings and perform administrative tasks.
• Deliver data collection training and communicate with KM leadership regularly.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Knowledge Management Department is a team dedicated to strengthening organizational learning, improving service delivery, and supporting continuous growth across SEEC. The team develops and implements knowledge management activities, promotes evidence-based practices, and uses data-driven strategies to support systems change and continuous improvement.

The Knowledge Management Department also develops and delivers training and educational initiatives that equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to provide high-quality services and effectively support SEEC’s mission.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL:

• Use of ABA as a positive behavior approach, considering both behaviors and any co-occuring mental health issues.
• Conduct functional behavioral and environmental assessments.
• Maintain active Mandt certification and assist with training, coaching, and implementation of Mandt principles and techniques for staff.
• Gather historical, medical, medication, or other pertinent information and data necessary to analyze and make recommendations for intervention strategies.
• Analyze and create an action plan based on multiple forms of data collection.
• Refer and make arrangements for professional evaluations.
• Work in collaboration with the BCBA on the Behavioral Plan and write, train on, and monitor the strategies for working with the person before, during, and/or after an event that requires intervention.
• Educate on and recommend new strategies and next steps as a result of monitoring the successful implementation of any behavior strategies.
• Help staff, families, and others to assure the person is able to be supported and successful in home, day, jobs, and community participation and belonging.
• Assess on an ongoing basis in support of positive behaviors and outcomes and goals, and maintain session notes that are up to date.
• Complete service documentation, progress notes, data collection summaries, implementation monitoring reports, treatment fidelity reports, and behavior support updates within agency-established timelines and applicable DDA and COMAR requirements.
• Provide coaching, competency-based training, and implementation support to direct support professionals, families, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and consistent use of positive behavior support strategies.
• Collaborate with Nursing, Employment, Community Engagement, and Supportive Living or Residential service teams to ensure coordinated implementation of person-centered support strategies across all environments.
• Assuring and preparing updates according to COMAR 10.22.10
• Assess and monitor on an ongoing basis the implementation of any Behavior Support Plan and the need for changes, education, and problem-solving
• Work in collaboration with the BCBA in providing onsite, short-term implementation modeling.
• Schedule, coordinate and facilitate project meetings.
• Perform administrative activities, including documentation, meeting facilitation and others as needed.
• Provide training on data collection and positive behavior intervention and implementation strategies.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director of KM and appropriate departments as appropriate.
• Monitor behavior support recommendations to ensure interventions are clinically justified, person-centered, and consistent with DDA requirements regarding rights, dignity, and least restrictive practices.
• Assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director of KM.
• Meet regularly with the BCBA for supervision to meet RBT certification and maintenance requirements according to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and maintain that the RBT is in good standing.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, special education, rehabilitation, human services, or related field required.
• RBT certification required.
• Must work under the clinical supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or licensed clinician consistent with DDA and COMAR requirements.
• Knowledge of co-occurring intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health conditions preferred
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented supports preferred.
• Knowledgeable and proficient in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and positive behavior interventions.
• Able to independently work but also receive clinical and programmatic oversight.
• Excellent writer and verbal communicator who conveys information and ideas clearly and succinctly to families, direct support staff, managers, and others as appropriate.
• Experience with adults with disabilities or with others needing similar types of support.
• Able to coach and assist families, direct support staff, or others in learning the strategies and delivering the interventions.
• Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office 365.
• Possess positive, person-centered written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to travel frequently to various community settings in Montgomery County and surrounding areas using your own vehicle.
