Job summary

Malin Elementary School seeks a Paraprofessional for the Special Education/Restrictive Structured and Intensive program to support students in the Success Room, under licensed staff supervision, promoting positive behavior and learning.

The position is 178 days/year, 7 hours/day. Requirements include 2 years of college credits (48) or an associate’s degree or Praxis pass, plus commitment to safety and confidentiality. Pay is $20.98–$23.61 per hour.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework (48 credits) or an Associate’s degree or Praxis pass.
• Ability to supervise students in a structured behavior support setting.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality and district policies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the Success Room for behavioral or emotional concerns.
• Implement behavior support plans and de-escalation techniques as directed.
• Assist students in reflecting on behaviors and developing coping skills.
• Document student behaviors and progress using district procedures.
• Communicate with teachers, administrators and families regarding student progress.
