Job summary

BlazerJobs is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year to support student success across multiple sites in Minnesota. The contract starts with training in late August, working with a BIS and a SpEd Administrator to implement positive behavior supports and safe learning environments.

The role requires BCBA certification or a valid Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3/4 for SpEd). Travel between 3–4 sites is expected, with regular hours and a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Experience with behavioral interventions in school settings is required.
• Skill in conducting functional behavior assessments and applying evidence-based practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities are essential.
• Ability to travel between 3–4 school sites as assigned.
• RBTs do not qualify for this role.

Responsibilities

• Consult with school staff to implement positive behavioral interventions and supports.
• Conduct and analyze functional behavior assessments to develop targeted strategies.
• Support and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Provide training for staff regarding behavioral recommendations and interventions.
• Apply de‑escalation techniques and restrictive procedures as needed to maintain student and staff safety.
• Collect and utilize data to inform ongoing programming decisions.
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
• Respond flexibly and calmly to crisis situations.
• Other duties as assigned by Special Education leadership.

Step into a pivotal role supporting student success as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team to implement effective positive behavior supports across multiple sites. Beginning with a training week in late August, you’ll work alongside another BIS and a SpEd Administrator, helping shape positive learning experiences and safe environments for students.

You’ll have a regular weekday schedule of approximately 8:30am-4:10pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week, with some variation depending on site needs.
