Behavior Specialist Overview
The Behavior Specialist in the ICF program serves as the Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional. This position is responsible for development, oversight and coordination of active treatment and clinical programs for individuals receiving services in the Adult ICF/ID Programs. This includes but is not limited to development, training and implementation of the individual service plan and behavior support plan for each individual, as well as completion of any related paperwork. Conducts individual functional behavior assessments, including comprehensive functional assessments, and develops, trains, and monitors desensitization plans. Oversees the implementation, data collection, and data reviews for each plan. The Behavior Specialist ensures compliance with required ICF/ID regulatory standards and oversees implementation of quality performance measures and standards for Melmark Adult Residential ICF/ID Programs. Maintains appropriate levels of communication with all team members including families, and regulatory agencies
Assumes related duties and responsibilities to provide programming/services through a thorough understanding and promotion of active treatment while also accepting responsibility for the health, safety, welfare and growth for all individuals receiving services in the Adult Residential ICF/ID programs. Provides continuous active treatment program for all individuals that allow them to gain and maintain their skills and prevent regression.
