Job summary

Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is seeking a Behavior Specialist I to provide 1:1 behavioral intervention and rehab services to youth and families in natural environments.

You will document services, collaborate with community and mental health professionals, participate in supervision, and support wraparound care grounded in trauma-informed, culturally competent practices.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with children and families preferred.
  • Motivation to continue learning in ABA field.
  • Strong ethics and professional standards.
  • Ability to promote morale and work cohesively in a team.
  • Strong organization, record-keeping, and self-management.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with staff and families.
  • CA driver’s license or ability to obtain one, with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavioral intervention and rehab services to youth and families.
  • Document services and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with community and mental health professionals; participate in supervision.
  • Provide crisis management and clinical case management as needed.

Pay/Benefits at a Glance
  • Pay range for this position is between $18.98 - $24.22 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Will Do

The Behavior Specialist works within the wraparound philosophy to support behavior strategies and provide 1:1 behavioral intervention and rehab services to participants/participant families. The Behavior Specialist is responsible for 1:1 direct service to youth, young adults, parents/caregivers in their natural environments, documentation of services, collaboration with community and mental health professionals and participating in group and individual supervision. Additional responsibilities include providing crisis management, clinical case management, administrative functions, and being on call as needed. The Behavior Specialist is active in supporting and implementing wraparound philosophy, trauma informed care model and its individualized, strengths-based, culturally competent, family-centered approach to behavioral, evidence-based intervention.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Motivation to continue learning and growing in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • High ethical standards
  • Promote positive morale and team cohesion
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, able to maintain records, and work independently
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, supervisors, and youths
  • CA driver’s license (or ability to obtain one) and reliable transportation
