Job summary

Jefferson City School District in Jefferson City, Missouri is seeking a 26-27 Behavior Specialist to lead the district-wide behavior support program. The role includes designing, implementing, and evaluating ABA-based services for students with behavioral needs.

The position reports to the Special Programs Coordinator and requires collaboration with district BCBA staff, development of functional assessments, and ongoing professional learning for teachers.

Qualifications

• Missouri Teaching Certification, preferably in Special Education, School Psychology or related field
• Experience working with students with social/emotional and behavioral needs
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction at the school level to design and evaluate a behavior support program
• Provide comprehensive behavior analysis services to students in schools
• Work with district BCBA staff to develop functional behavioral assessments and behavior plans
• Train staff on positive behavior supports and data-driven decision making
• Develop and implement behavior plans and ABA programs for students with challenges
• Present assessment results to parents and school teams and monitor progress
• Organize team meetings with teachers and parents to complete Functional Behavioral Assessments
