Job summary

Folsom Cordova Unified School District seeks a Behavior Specialist to develop and implement behavior management programs for students and collaborate with educators and families. This role requires BCABA or equivalent ABA qualifications and a B.A. degree.

The position is based at Cordova Villa Elementary School in Rancho Cordova, a Title I school serving diverse communities. Hours are 8 per day, 5 days a week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and salary ranges from $49.47 to $60.13 per hour.

• Participate in development and implementation of policies related to management of students’ problematic behaviors.

Cordova Villa Elementary School is a Title I school in Rancho Cordova that serves approximately 500 students from preschool to fifth grade. Our students and families represent many cultures and speak a variety of languages. We are a PBIS school and embrace restorative practices to prevent and problem solve at school, use the PLC model to guide our work and teaching, and look for ways to engage with our families to strengthen our relationships, solidify the school and home partnership, and increase overall student success. Behavior Specialist Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services, plans and provides a behavior management program for pupils and provides related services to teachers, administrators, other special education staff, parents, and the community, as appropriate. Actively participates in the development and implementation of policies relative to the management of students’ problematic behaviors.

Minimum Qualifications

Certificate Required: Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA) or documented evidence of equivalent education, professional training and experience in applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Education: B.A. degree

Physical Abilities: Sit for prolonged periods, work with minimal supervision, think logically, be attentive to detail, and utilize problem-solving methodology. Work with diverse audiences and present information in clear understandable formats.

Significant physical abilities: Reaching, handling, fingering, talking, and hearing ordinary conversations, near vision/visual accommodation.

Upon Conditional Offer of Employment

• DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
• TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
• Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
