Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or willingness to complete such degree within five years) in student personnel, administration, counseling or related field
• MA DOE license: teacher, school guidance, school social worker, at appropriate grade level
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching or counseling experience in a school setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Solid decision making skills

Responsibilities

• Works as part of a team with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and others to support positive student behavior in the school
• Provides direct instruction to students identified as needing assistance in behavior in daily interactions with staff and students
• Implements disciplinary policies to create a safe learning environment
• Collaborates with parents, students, and staff to ensure successful transitions between schools
• Supports classroom and non-classroom learning including extra-curricular activities and supervision during assemblies, lunch, arrival and dismissal
• Supports staff to implement the Code of Conduct and conduct conflict resolution activities
• Serves as liaison to the surrounding community and other area schools about off-campus student safety and behavior
• Assists in identifying and developing professional development to meet social, emotional and behavioral needs

Education
