Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist for Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio. You will help create a rigorous, nurturing classroom focusing on student learning and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities include conducting FBA, function-based interventions, and BIPs; coordinating with IEP teams; and collaborating with staff and families to implement positive behavior supports. The role emphasizes attendance improvement and school culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, health, or related field preferred.
• Intervention Specialist license preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience with at-risk or behaviorally challenged students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of behavioral needs of students of various ages.
• Conduct FBA, function-based interventions, and BIPs.
• Meet with students to develop behavior tracking and intervention plans.
• Participate in IEP Teams and coordinate with students needing intervention.
• Collaborate with staff on crisis intervention and learning issues.
• Serve as consultant to administrators, teachers and parents for behavior solutions.
• Monitor attendance and develop Absence Intervention Plans.
• Maintain accurate records per school policies.
• Support school events and daily duties as needed.
