Job summary

Vallivue is seeking an instructional aide to support teachers in implementing IEP goals and delivering instruction to students with disabilities. The role includes one-on-one and small group work under the direction of certified staff, with a focus on promoting academic progress and classroom safety.

The position requires a degree in education or human services, plus IEP-related experience or coursework, and the ability to lift and assist as needed within a school setting in Idaho.

Qualifications

• Must have 1040 hours working with children documented on application or resume.
• Experience as aide or teaching assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and needs of children with disabilities.
• Knowledge of special education classroom practices.
• Ability to instruct students one-on-one and in small groups as directed by teacher.
• Maintains confidentiality of staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in achieving IEP goals through individualized or small group instruction.
• Maintain high academic standards and expectations for students.
• Provide tutorial help and reinforce material using various methods as directed by certified staff.
• Deliver instruction under supervision of certified staff and monitor student progress.
• Prepare and manage instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with supervision during drills, field trips, and activities.
• Record and communicate student progress and behavior as required.
