Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant - Behavior & Instruction at Yolanda Elementary School in Springfield, OR. This part-time, non-benefited position runs daily from 11:20 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

during the 183 school days, providing tutoring, behavior support, and instructional assistance under a licensed teacher. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or higher (or equivalent coursework), and demonstrate skills in de-escalation, classroom support, and data entry.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher (attach diploma) or
• Two years post-secondary study (72 credit hours, 48 semester units) or
• High school diploma/GED with proficiency in reading/writing and math

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide supplemental practice and reinforce skills.
• Assist in health room and provide first aid if needed.
• Support teacher, bus/van driver with student management and safety.
• Document attendance, logs and paperwork as required.
• Assist with behavior management and de-escalation strategies.
• Set up and take down materials to support learning and behavioral goals.
