Job summary

Milford Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Assistant at Stacy Middle School in Milford, MA. The position supports students with disabilities and participates in inclusion and sub-separate classroom settings.

Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, work hours are 7:45 to 2:15. Compensation is per contract, $19.67 to $25.67 per hour, depending on experience and certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in Special Education and with students with disabilities is preferred.
  • Behavior management training and CPI restraint training are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and support direct educational services.
  • Work with students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with others in classroom (sub-separate and/or inclusion).
  • Create opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills.
  • Complete daily log as necessary.
  • Maintain student notebooks and materials.
  • Participate in program meetings/trainings.
  • Review progress on IEP goals.
  • Support students in ADL and related care per IEP/care plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher or Administrator.

Position: Behavior Assistant (9 positions)

Location: Stacy Middle School

Schedule: 2026-2027 School Year – Hours 7:45 – 2:15

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of the following are preferred:
    • Previous Special Education experience
    • Experience working with students with disabilities
    • Behavior management training
    • CPI restraint training preferred
  • Willing and able to train
Duties
  • Provide/support direct educational services
  • Work with students with disabilities
  • Work collaboratively with others in classroom (sub-separate and/or inclusion)
  • Create opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills
  • Completion of daily log as necessary
  • Maintain student notebook in neat and orderly manner
  • Maintain student specific materials, reinforcers
  • Participate in program meetings/trainings
  • Review progress on IEP goals
  • Support students in ADL (self-care & hygiene, toileting and other needs identified by the student’s IEP and/or care plan).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Lead Teacher and/or Administrator
